This project is an exploration in physical computing. Unlike other mediums of interaction, digital technologies have this ability to create an abstract sensory layer on objects. This sensory layer works by receiving a very specific kind of data from the immediate environment. It then stores, interprets and transmits this data to the sensory layer of another object where it is reinterpreted and used in its own way. Once we zoom out and look at the same setup it appears as if an inanimate object is given a sensory organ to interpret its environment.

In the above video, the movement of the inanimate digital tree is connected to the physical environment through a small device that measures the intensity of breathing. Harder one breaths, stronger the wind blows on the tree. The breathing data from the immediate environment is reinterpreted as wind blowing on the tree.
